Building our home during the COVID disruptions could have been a difficult and stressful experience. We wanted to build a house that was simple, beautiful and elegant, and included all the ideas we had accumulated over time. A modern barn in natural wood, dark metal cladding and concrete floors with a stunning entry, a mixture of Scandinavian and industrial style, a sustainable house provided with the last technology and a design touch. We were very lucky to have found Dan, our builder who was willing to listen to our ideas, open to discuss each details with us, able to find a solution for every issues encountered during the process and to source the best material locally and interstate. He and his team of craftsmen have managed to translate our dreams into an extremely beautiful, well crafted and cosy house”

On the side of a steep hill, this project required a creative approach to the design and construction. With the end result being a private, serene and peaceful home!
Working with Dan and Kirilee was an absolute pleasure from start to finish.
During the early stages they were extremely helpful with the design, providing loads of input based on their significant experience. Their recommendations on architectural design, materials and finishes can be found throughout our home. And when we came at them with pie in the sky ideas we would always be met with practical ways to achieve abstract requirements, with a full consideration for cost and time so we could make decisions based on what suited us best. We were also often presented with ideas which we incorporated or were able to tweak to add even more character to our home.

“During the five and half months of the build, we lived on site and had a perfect opportunity to observe Dan and his team at work. Throughout the build Dan and his team were friendly, courteous and respectful and never took anything for granted. As a team they worked solidly and efficiently and appeared to take pleasure in their work. As a project manager Dan was very adept. Despite the work being done in a period when good tradesmen were in short supply, Dan evidently had strong working relationships with local tradesmen and was able to manage all stages of the build without delay. Dan also has a solid relationship with local suppliers. In particular, he kept the kitchen manufacturer/installer and window suppliers well informed of progress so that each of those items were available at the appropriate time.
Perhaps overall, the biggest complement we can pay Dan and his team is that we never had cause to doubt their integrity or question the invoices. His work was of the highest quality and he came in on time and on budget. We are extremely happy with our renovated home and have no reservations in recommending Dan and his team to anyone looking for a quality builder who takes pride in his work.”

Daniel is professional, reliable, and dedicated to creating the very best. When any unforeseen issues arose, Daniel solved them with calm precision. The team’s workmanship is exemplary. They understood we wanted to salvage and utilize all the existing timber from the shed and managed to craft shelving, a floating vanity, and an island bench from very old pieces of hardwood.
